Description:
BUCKWHEAT An erect upright herbaceous annual grass, that is very early maturing and can be planted late, growing to heights of 2-3 feet tall. Suitable for a wide range of soils. Seed will remain on the stalk after ripening, providing an excellent food source over a very lengthy time frame. Desired by Quail, Pheasants, Doves, Turkeys, Ducks and Geese. Ideal planting times are Spring after any chance of frost, but can be planted late and will produce seed or reach maturity within 10 -12 weeks, holds its seed on the stalk late into the winter. Can actually produce two seed crops due to its ability to regenerate so quickly. Seeding Rate of 50 – 65 lbs per acre.
