Description:
Perennial legume adapted to most soils. This plant is known for its ability to produce and shed seed pods slowly year round, furnishing plenty of seed for reseeding and food. One of the best permanent quail foods available. Grows to a height of 3 to 5 feet tall. Roots will penetrate the soils to a depth of 3 feet. Unless mowed dead stems will remain and provide excellent habitat cover over winter. Following years growth will originate form the crowns upward. Will provide excellent cover and source of food. Generally 1/8 acre plots work very well. Seeding rate of 15 - 25 lbs per acre. Spring planting after any chance of frost.
