Description:
A annual bunch grass that reaches heights of 2-4 feet tall. Oats are known to be sensitive to cold and possibly experiencing winter kill in some areas. Oats are very responsive to nitrogen and require average amounts of phosphorous and potassium. Offers relatively low competition to establishing perennials and is extremely palatable to grazing animals. Can be used as a great source of quick cover, to address eroadable areas or in conjunction with other small grain in food plots. Best planting time is in September-October. Seeding if planted with other species 60-90 lbs per acre. If planted alone in a stand 90-120 lbs per acre.
