A native perennial, that is fine leafed and sod forming. Performs very well on upland soils. Will turn a very attractive reddish white color after the first frost. Also noted for its oat like seed head production that hang towards one side of the seed head. Beautiful Seed stalks appear from July to September and are 18 to 36 inches in height. Average heights are 12 18 inches. Ideal planting times are between April 1 to May 15th, soils will need to be approximately 60 degrees for the seeds to germinate. Seeding rate of 15 20 lbs per acre.
